Eid Mubarak – Peace and Blessings to you all

May 22, 2020

A huge Eid Mubarak to my fellow Muslims celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr from home this year. May you have a great day filled with peace and blessings with those you live with. Ameen. 🤗🌙✨🕌🤲🏼

With Love, Salma

Ramadan is almost over and Eid will be this weekend. God willing. Wow, it flew by didn’t it? For me, it went with a blink of an eye, mostly because it didn’t quite feel like Ramadan this year.

The reason being is because I didn’t do Ramadan with my family at my parent’s house this year (since I don’t live with them). This kind of left me feeling sad, lonely, and empty most days if I am being completely honest.

Being in quarantine with a lack of old “normality” didn’t help either I guess. Although, I guess like most I’ve gotten kind of used to this “new normality” after all it has been 3 months since we’ve gone into lockdown. Damn!!!

Overall though, it was mostly a good month- filled with lots of lessons and blessings! ✨

I know Eid at home this year isn’t ideal, but the virus is still out there and we don’t have a vaccine for this yet. Not to mention we’ve become used to being at home. So this weekend shouldn’t be any different, right? We just need to stay home a little longer which in turn will save lives, to be honest.

I for one don’t even have Eid clothes this year, however, I will get up- to have my Eid shower, do my Eid prayer* and wear something clean and put makeup on and eat good food. If God wills (insha’Allah).

Here’s a video from East London Mosque on how to perform the Eid prayer* at home if anyone is interested to know:

Unfortunately, I won’t be celebrating Eid with my family either but I aim to visit them soon if God wills me to. So I will celebrate when I go to stay for a few weeks. 🙂 *Eeek, fingers and toes crossed*. 🤲🏼

And for those of you who may not know what Eid or rather Eid-ul-Fitr is or would like to read up on it, click here. This article should explain it all and also tell you how Muslims aim to be celebrating Eid this year, in quarantine.

Once again, Eid Mubarak to all those celebrating this weekend – praying you all will have a great Eid, Insha’Allah. Stay home and stay safe.
