It’s time to start making changes

May 31, 2020

As Tupac said in his song ‘Changes’: “It’s time for us as a people to start making changes.” And through the power of social media, smartphones, protesting, donations, etc. we can do exactly that- this year.

I’ve been thinking deeply about how I can use my voice and blog to help raise awareness, and make changes. I have to do more both online and offline.

I created this blog for the sole purpose of sharing my journey, experiences, and thoughts with you all.

But I also created it as a part of my thought process, which is speaking up for what I deem is right as well as speaking up for the voiceless, the helpless, and for justice.

Going forward in my thoughts category you will see content on causes, current affairs, etc that I am contributing my time, energy, and efforts towards.

Note: my next post will be about what’s been happening in the US regarding police brutality.

There is so much injustice and what I deem wrong happening in the world and I feel it is up to us as people to first change ourselves to be able to make changes in the world.

Be the change you wish to see in the world.

“We but mirror the world. All the tendencies present in the outer world are to be found in the world of our body. If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. This is the divine mystery supreme. A wonderful thing it is and the source of our happiness. We need not wait to see what others do.”

– Mahatma Gandhi

Our society- namely Western society is in desperate for healing and of course change.

I believe God gave us this quarantine period to not only heal this earth but to heal ourselves – to take this time to reflect and ponder. I believe he wanted us to better ourselves and the world we live in.

“My hope is to leave this world a bit better than when I got here.”

Jim Nelson

Growing up, I believed change happens when we change ourselves and then make someone else’s problems, our problem. But as I mentioned above, we need to look at ourselves first and change what is in our hearts and what is in our homes before we can change what’s out there in the world.

So I urge you all to look in the mirror and ask yourself, how can I be better? How can I do better? How can I make changes in myself that will allow me to then make changes in the world?

As Micheal Jackson said in his song ‘Man in the mirror’: “I’m starting with the man in the mirror, I’m asking him to change his ways. And no message could have been any clearer. If you want to make the world a better place… Take a look at yourself, and then make a change.”

Taking action:

Prince EA said it correctly (in the video below) “the real crisis isn’t global warming, environmental destruction, animal agriculture, it’s us, these problems are symptoms of us, byproducts of us.”

So WE must take action now and make changes that will have a positive impact on the world.

Man VS Earth by Prince EA

Note: everything that is happening in this world is OUR problem – whether you are directly impacted by what is happening or not, whether you like it or not we’re all in this together.

So please use your voice, platforms, resources, statues, money and privileges to wake up, come together, and fight for our freedom, for our rights, for animal rights, for our earth. ❤️

We must not let history repeat itself- we need to do this for our future, for the next generations.

Don’t you want to see a world filled with love and connection, unity, and peace? Freedom for all without oppression? Don’t you want to go into a new era with no more hate, division, and evil?

We can collectively save the world. Our world.

“To really change the world, we have to help people change the way they see things. Global betterment is a mental process, not one that requires huge sums of money or a high level of authority. Change has to be psychological. So if you want to see real change, stay persistent in educating humanity on how similar we all are than different. Don’t only strive to be the change you want to see in the world, but also help all those around you see the world through commonalities of the heart so that they would want to change with you. This is how humanity will evolve to become better. This is how you can change the world. The language of the heart is mankind’s main common language.”
